Yamini Hingorani, founder and principal of Yamini Designs, is an award-winning interior designer. Yamini blends her lifelong passion for art and design with her clients’ visions and needs to create stylish, modern, and classic interiors, with a focus on functionality and timelessness. Born in Mumbai and raised in Chicago, Yamini brings her global experience and personal touch to each project, helping clients translate their own personal journeys and lifestyles into their living spaces.
Yamini is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). A designer by training, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Illinois and has more than 20 years of experience in residential, hospitality, and commercial design.
While part of The Gettys Group, a world-renowned hospitality design firm, Yamini worked on the design teams for the 14,000 sqft Richard Driehaus Residence in Lake Geneva Wisconsin, The Wyndham Chicago Hotel, The Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel Chicago, and the Ritz Carlton, Pentagon City.
She launched Yamini Designs in 2002 to offer her extensive resources and design expertise to residential and commercial clients. Yamini tackles every interior design challenge with meticulous analysis and a creative problem-solving mindset. She works closely with clients to meet their individual design requirements, budgetary goals, schedules, and lifestyle. From the initial consultation, through planning, to final execution, Yamini’s collaborative approach puts clients at ease and helps bring their collective vision to fruition.
Yamini is a seven-time winner of the ASID Design Excellence Awards and a seventeen-time winner of the Houzz Best in Design and Service Awards. She has also served on the Board of the ASID Illinois Chapter from 2020 through 2022 as Membership Director. In this leadership role, her goal was to advance the interior design profession by supporting fellow interior design professionals, students, and industry partners and to communicate the impact of design on the human experience.
