How to Table-Scape Like a Pro

The process of accessorizing a room is just as important as choosing a great sofa and chairs. A room really comes together when we add the 'jewelry' of light fixtures and art objects and the texture of plants, pillows and throws. Read on for some tips for pulling together your own table-scape!

First, remember the rule of 3's: the grouping here of two vases and a bowl follows this principal. It's also an example of incorporating both high and low objects into your table-scape. Lastly, the branches and moss balls add texture.

Rug Design Benefit Raises $19,000 to Enhance Local Nonprofits

Yamini Designs is happy to report that the 3rd Annual Carpets for a Cause benefit hosted by Oscar Isberian Rugs in late November raised more than $19,000 for Designs for Dignity, a Chicago-based organization that combines pro bono design and construction talent and in-kind donations to breathe new life into nonprofit spaces.

The event drew a huge crowd to celebrate and bid on the 15 rugs designed by Chicago interior designers, including Yamini Designs.

Yamini Designs Wins First Place, Best Vignette at River North Design District Fall Gallery Walk

‘Wig Out,’ an homage to ‘60s Hollywood curated by Yamini Designs, won the first-place award for best vignette at the River North Design District (RNDD) 2019 Fall Gallery Walk. The event held Sept. 6 & 7 attracted nearly 1,000 guests to the district and 20 vignettes created by Chicago interior designers.

Yamini Designs was paired with Italian luxury furnishings showroom Casa Spazio and Hilton/Asmus Contemporary art gallery for the Gallery Walk.

Fall Gallery Walk to Feature Vignette Designed by Yamini Designs

Mark your calendars for the most popular event of the year in the River North Design District (RNDD): the 5th Annual Fall Gallery Walk Friday, September 6 & 7. The event brings art and design together by pairing top Chicago interior designers with an RNDD showroom and internationally renowned artists.

For this year’s gallery walk, 20 select interior designers are creating a unique vignette to showcase the work of some of the brightest stars in the art world today. Yamini Designs is honored to be collaborating with Italian furniture showroom Casa Spazio and the Hilton/Asmus Contemporary art gallery. We’ll share more details of our vignette so stay tuned!

Yamini Designs Selected to Design Rug for Charity Event

I’m so proud to have been selected to design an exclusive rug for the 3rd Annual Carpets for a Cause benefit this fall!

I’ll be working with the experts at Oscar Isberian Rugs to design my own exclusive carpet, which will then be tufted by artisan weavers in Thailand. My rug and 15 others designed by Chicago interior designers will be on display at Oscar Isberian this fall and then raffled during Carpets for Cause on October 23.
